Three mega classical dance programmes, dealing with the life and messages of Lord Krishna and the life and teachings two great social reformers and spiritual leaders, Adi Sankaracharya and Sree Narayana Gurudev, constitute the major choreographic events. These productions have been well acclaimed by the media and art lovers alike.
Sankaram Loka Sankaram – A Natya Bhashyam
Dr. C.P.Unnikrishnan, the scriptwriter and choreographer, has done a great service in bringing to the common people, the life and teachings of Jagadguru Adi Sankara, the propounder of the Advaita Philosophy.
The beautiful Choreography, melodious songs, inclusion of certain original poetic works of Sree Sankaracharya, dedicated danseuses, concerted efforts of the playback artists, pleasing visualization including light effects, total co- ordination and the Gurukulam mode of training contributed to the success of the production.

Features of The Production
A unique mega event in the dance history of Kerala to acquaint common people with the life and philosophy of Adi Sankaracharya.
A happy blending of the Four South Indian Classical dance techniques viz; Mohiniyattam, Bharathanatyam, Kuchupudy and Kathakali.
Danseuses wear conventional dance costumes and specially made thirasseela (hand-held small curtains) bearing appropriate symbols are used to introduce important characters.
The whole production is based on the lyrics in Malayalam & Sanskrit verses included when found necessary. Different choreographic techniques are used to portray each situation. Eg. The argument between Sree Sankara & Mandanamisra has been choreographed with the help of jathis.
Tabloid compositions with light effects are included to depict the sanctum sanctorum of temples, the funeral pyre of Sankara’s mother Aryamba, sarvajnapeetarohanam etc. Eighteen important incidents from Sree Sankara’s are visualised in the Natyabhashyam.

Gurudeva Charitham – A Natya Bhashyam
The mega programme of 2¼ hours duration visualises seventeen important incidents from the life and messages of Sree Narayana Gurudev, as part of promoting world peace and universal brotherhood. The message of “ONE CASTE, ONE RELIGION AND ONE GOD FOR MANKIND”, the practical version of the Advaita Philosophy is the basis of the production.
Choreographed in 2008, the Natyabhashyam has attracted the attention of devotees of the great Guru, all over the world within a short span of time. The production consists of 25 young dansueses, 10 playback artistes and the light and sound crew. From 25-02-2008 to 23-02-2009, the production has been staged on 15 important mega stages i.e; within the first one year since its dedication to the people of Kerala.

The latest mega programme , dealing with the life and messages of Lord Krishna ,was Choreographed in December,2011. Twenty senior danseuses and 10 play back artists support the programme which last for two hours . 10 important episodes of Lord Krishna are staged in the Natyabhashyam.

THE IDEA :
The idea to choreograph the great messages and teachings of Adi Sankaracharya, Sree Narayana Gurudev & Lord Krishna, was mooted by Prof. P.V.Peethambaran, the Promoter of SSD. He produced the programmes by investing the necessary fund for the programmes. The idea to produce social production was also mooted by him. Mega productions & social productions were well acclaimed by the art lovers.
