Accreditation

Sree Sankara School of Dance is the first institution to introduce the accreditation process in classical dance & music. Under this scheme, promising young artistes in the field of Mohiniyattam, Bharathanatyam, Kuchupudy and Carnatic Music are given accreditation by an autonomous body, Sree Sankara Assessment and Accreditation Council (SAAC), constituted by Sree Sankara School of Dance.

SAAC is an independent body of senior gurus and technical experts in the field of classical arts. Those who have undergone at least 5 years of training in classical dance / music can go through the accreditation process.

Application forms and prospectus are available from the main campus of the school, usually three months before the scheduled date of the accreditation session. Details of the accreditation process will appear in all important leading news media. The accreditation process commenced in 1993, has so far identified 25 (dancers and musicians) as up-coming professional artistes. The accredited artistes are given the accreditation certificate and the Sree Sankaracharya Award for the Young Artistes.

The accreditation process consists of the following:
♦ Written examination
♦ Practical examination or Professional Skill Test based on Kacheri system (repertoire specified for each style)
♦ Viva Voice
♦ Communication Skill Exam
♦ Open House
